Boston Cover Concept
Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10:30PM Here's a quick sneak peek at one of the cover treatments we're submitting with the series pitch for "Boston", a comic series I'm working on with Kalle Malloy, Jordan Boyd, and Charles Pritchett.
And those are all the details you get now.

I'd pick that up
I like it - it reminds me a lot of the I Kill Giants covers, and would definitely be a stark contrast with the rest of a rack of comics. As a typeface nerd, I love the font for the title too.
I know it's still in the concept phase, but my only nitpick is with the shadow and the way the smoke is coming out of the gun barrel. The shadow suggests that the gun is resting on a surface, so the smoke looks (to me) like it's running along the ground rather than rising into the air.
Then again, everyone is a critic and I don't know how smoke would actually come from a gun. Nitpick aside, I like the design.
It would stick out in a crowd. I can honestly say if this was on the shelf it would at least grab my attention long enough to pick it up and flip through it. Now a days that takes a lot since I try not to deviate from my list.
BTW is this the Cowboy series you talked about during Wondercon? If so I'll be interested to read this.
That is a nice simple cover. I would look at that and say "Hey what is that about"...yes I would talk to myself in the store.
Very nice, I love the minimalistic approach. I'm intrigued already by what I perceive to be the setting.
Liking the cover art!...........the white background is a little stark. With the style of the gun (rustic and distressed) a background that isn't so "bright" white might work well also. I think you can still get the contrast your looking for. I also agree with the shadow/smoke comment above. Don't get me wrong.......I'm loving the art........just picking a bit ;-)
I can't see the pic, but good luck.
Try a different browser. What is the browser that's not working for everyone?
it definitely has an iconic look. good luck pitching it!
Good luck. I'll be first in line and I'm still willing to pay $50 for a signed copy of your first book.
